HMS NELSON HM Naval Base Portsmouth Chaplaincy

The Royal Naval Chaplaincy Service, in obedience to the imperative of the Gospel, is called to bear witness to the Christian faith in the Naval Service, seeking to encourage, equip and support service personnel and their dependants to fulfill their spiritual needs in their daily lives for the benefit of the Individual, Service and the Nation.

My name is Andy and I'm the Chaplaincy Support Worker at HMS NELSON HM Naval Base Portsmouth. I'm part of the Chaplaincy team here that looks after personnel serving within the HMS NELSON HM Naval Base and HMS TEMERAIRE.

Of course, we also have a special responsibility to provide spiritual and pastoral support to Naval Families and individuals living 'outside the wire'.  This we do in a number of different ways.

You will often see us out and about on the patches, visiting the HIVEs and community centres to say hi and getting to know everyone.  Some of you may even have popped in to join us for Family Carols at the Crossley Centre around Christmas time.

In Rowner the Chaplaincy has us of an office at 2 Shackleton Road from which to provide confidential ministry and pastoral support among the Married Quarters.
